An Update from the Board of Management
In our current mini-series on generosity, we get to reflect upon how we handle stewardship, with charity (grace) and cheerfulness.
As we walk through 2nd Corinthians in our sermon series, we have come to chapters 8 and 9, where the Apostle Paul speaks to the gifted church at Corinth about generosity. You can watch/listen to the first of these sermons here.
As it is so important to us how we handle the God-given-generosity of the church, for the church and for the gospel going into the world - we seek to be clear and prayerful by giving updates to the congregation on how our finances area tracking.
The Board of Management thought it wise and helpful for us to see God’s evidences of grace in how generous Reforming is, and to pray about our season of being slightly under meeting of budget. You can see this pictured in the following graph.
You can see from the yellow line that we have had a couple of months of large annual expenses - these always fall at this time of year.
You can see from the red line that our monthly target for giving is what the congregation of members resolved to adopt at our most recent Annual Congregational Meeting (ACM 2024).
And you can see from the blue line that our giving has been generous, but for the last couple of months it has also not quite met our approved budget.
Now this is not an emergency situation, simply a situation for transparency for the church and clarity for our prayers. You could ask any of our Board Managers about this season, and pray that the Lord will provide - He always listens and He always provides.
We are grateful to God for Reforming’s cheerful giving, we thank God for the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ who gave himself for us.
