The Lord Jesus says,  “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. (Matthew 6:19-21)

The Apostle Paul speaks about our ministry of gospel giving as our partnership in the gospel, from Philippians 1:3-6, I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy, because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now. And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.

It is the gospel that shapes how we give, when we look at Christ from 2 Corinthians 8:9 For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you by his poverty might become rich.

As a church family we give joyfully in response to God’s gracious and lavish love for us. With joy in Jesus, we give generously to His church, for His work in His world. Our giving is ultimately an act of worship.
