Conflict is a Gospel Opportunity (Philippians 4:1-3)
Group Guides | Sharing the gospel, sharing our lives (1 Thessalonians 2:8)
By way of introduction: What have been some responses you have seen to conflict?
Read Philippians 4:1-3
There are many different varieties of conflict (and it can be important to differentiate between them), how would you describe the kind of conflict we see in this passage?
Conflict has not only seen a variety of responses in churches, but also a variety of approaches. Look at how Paul approaches this in-church conflict and discuss how this is instructive for us as a church.
From this passage, how does a theologically-shaped conflict resolution happen?
How does knowing people’s names are in the Book of Life change “the way we do conflict” in our church?
Instead of fleeing from conflict, or fighting to overcome the other person we’re in conflict with - how can we now respond to conflict through the gospel?
Pray that we as a church would see conflict (as hard as it is) as an opportunity for the gospel.
